Statement over new reports!

Statement from Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar:

Please see the statement below from our son Josh regarding recent media stories about him. When we learned of this late last night our hearts were broken. As we continue to place our trust in God we ask for your prayers for Josh, Anna, our grandchildren and our entire family.
Statement from Josh Duggar:
I have been the biggest hypocrite ever. While espousing faith and family values, I have secretly over the last several years been viewing pornography on the internet and this became a secret addiction and I became unfaithful to my wife.
I am so ashamed of the double life that I have been living and am grieved for the hurt, pain and disgrace my sin has caused my wife and family, and most of all Jesus and all those who profess faith in Him.
I brought hurt and a reproach to my family, close friends and the fans of our show with my actions that happened when I was 14-15 years old, and now I have re-broken their trust.
The last few years, while publicly stating I was fighting against immorality in our country, I was hiding my own personal failings.
As I am learning the hard way, we have the freedom to choose to our actions, but we do not get to choose our consequences. I deeply regret all hurt I have caused so many by being such a bad example.
I humbly ask for your forgiveness. Please pray for my precious wife Anna and our family during this time.
Josh Duggar

  1. Praying for your family and praying you get the help you need you don't owe anyone an apology except your wife and children . I am glad that you made a statement but it would have carried more weight if you had spoken publicly like when your sisters and family defended you a few months ago .

  2. I pray, Josh, that you are truly repentant over your actions, and not that you've been caught. Thankfully, God is a God of second and third chances, etc. Only through Him will you gain forgiveness and peace of mind...praying for you and your family.

  3. John 8:7 But when they persisted in asking Him, He straightened up, and said to them, "He who is without sin among you, let him be the first to throw a stone at her." Praying for your family. I hope you will be able to work through this together as a family. <3

    1. I agree with everything you say Julie! We're all sinners and have no right to throw stones. At this moment they need our prayers not our condemnation! Prayers for all of you!

  4. I will be praying for your whole family during this time!! I know people are taking off with this and bashing your family but it just shows that we are all human and have different sins that we struggle with. I know that if Josh is truly sorry and truly seeks god in this that God will help him.

    God bless you guys

  7. Prayers to Anna and your entire family! Please all of you get counselling outside of the church or religion as well as inside of it, you will need both to get through this. Josh, keep your counselling open so that the public sees you going to restore their faith in you. Jessa and Ben do not let this cloud darken your blessing!! The whole family will need to talk this through with professionals outside of the faith to work through this. Anna you are in my thoughts and prayers, please know this has nothing to do with you, Josh knows he has issues that he needs to deal with and he needs both inside the faith and outside the faith help to get himself right. May God give your family the strength it needs to endure this and may it be a battle that Josh can conquer.

  8. My heart is broken for Josh, his wife and children and for his family. To have one's sins splashed across every media is a consequence none of us could bear. None of us are sinless, all of us are broken, and with the grace and mercy of Jesus, we can all be redeemed. Head up, Josh. Keep your eyes on Jesus, and tomorrow will come. My prayers for all of you. <3

  10. I am sorry Anna that you are a victim of this and hope that you can make it through this. Only you know how much you can handle and how strong you are. My spouse was unfaithful and had a relationship with another over 6 years ago. I am still with him but it's hard every day and never goes away. That is the price. I am also sorry that yet again the people that outed this didn't bother to think about others it would affect, you and your children. As part of the public I only get bits of your life from social media but things like this bother me like we know each other.

  11. Josh, God is a good and will help you to walk through this addiction. He is faithful and just, He will not leave your side as you walk through this valley. Look to your creator. Anna and kids, don't let people get you down, this is a big shock, and it hurts. Let God be your strength and healer during this time. I will pray for you as you walk this path.

  12. Honestly some people in the comments section need to LEAVE JOSH ALONE. Admitting failures Is a big step in getting help. Neither Josh not his family need vile words or bitchiness.

  13. Dearest Josh! With this world so full of corruption, we as Christians have longed every week to see your family standing on family values. This is where Satan will attack the hardest, when you are making such an impact on others... The damage has been brought to the media and they won't let go of it, because while they are selective in who they choose to crucify, please remember it's God and Jesus and the Holy Spirit that are grieving the most. And they are the only ones that you need forgiveness from. Others may never forgive you, but they won't be in the end to pass the final judgment. God doesn't look at their sin as any less than your sin. So don't forget that. He knows your every thought and words you have spoken. Confess your faults one to another... And ask for forgiveness and go to a good Christian counselor that will help you and your family over come this. It's only when we don't truly ask from the bottom of our hearts and 'fake it' that we will go back to the same thing over and over again.
David was a man after God's own heart.. And look what all he did. But the thing that pleased God was his remorse for what he did. For realizing that you can't make it in this world without Him and His Holy Spirit residing in you!
Father we come to you today and lift Josh up to you. Your word says that what ever we bind on earth is bound in heaven and what ever we loose on earth we loose in heaven... So we stand in agreement that all strongholds of sexual impurities be bound and cast into the sea and we loose the love of God to over flowing in him for all those harmed by this sin that is sweeping this nation- and loose the heart of compassion for all those that are trafficked in this area of pronography that his heart will be burdened to pray for the sinner in this sinful act and those it is being done to. Put him in a ministry to help those young women that have been sold into sex slavery and help them to be take out of this terrible life they are in.
Jesus you said we will do even greater works here on this earth because you go to the Father.. Lord we pray for you to intercede to the Father for Josh that this stronghold be broken and all generational curses be broken off the family to the third and forth generation. In Jesus name we pray amen and amen!

  14. When you feel betrayed, run (don't walk) to the One who understands the entire situation without you uttering one single word. The Lord God cares deeply for you and His Spirit is going to comfort you.

  15. Thank you for your open confession. I accepted Christ as my Savior when I was fourteen. There has never been a time in my life that Satan hasn't thrown his evil schemes my way. We forget as Christians forget he is the enemy of our souls. He seeks to steal, kill and destroy. Ephesians 6. I'm 66 now and my biggest regret is how little time I've immersed myself in God's Holy Word and in prayer. I will prY for your extended family but mostly for Anna. It's a lot for her to absorb. In Christ's everlasting love, Diane Hippe

  16. Father we lift up the Duggars, every family member and Michelle and Jim Bob..we pray for a hedge of protection and the promise of Isaiah 54:17 that no weapons formed against them shall prosper and every tongue that comes against them thou shall condemn, because that is the heritage of the Lord's saints and we pray that Psalms 91 shields them with Your grace and mercy and healing -individually and as a whole in the family. For every adversity that they encounter Lord help them to minister this to this USA, because this America has sold itself into this idolatry...Since the media is attacking them may the Duggar's open up boldly and use their sins to teach America to come back to God and renounce their secret sinful ways that God sees even if their family and friends or coworkers don't. In Jesus name we pray amen and amen.

  21. How can people support this family. I feel sorry for Anna and kids. Jim Bob and Michelle did this to Josh. Something is wrong. They cannot hide their children and grandchildren from life. I would like this to be posted.

    1. I support them because they have done their best to be good parents & teach their children the way they should go. As a parent who has one child who has made very bad choices in life despite being taught a better way to live, I understand their are many stumbling blocks in life. A person's choices in life are not always a reflection of their parents/childhood. I am sure I have sinned many times in my life but I have asked for forgiveness & have faith Jesus walks beside me. We all make mistakes & we are all sinners. Where would any of us be without Divine forgiveness?
