Recap: Jinger has a baby


Previously on Counting On, Jinger and Jeremy have decided to be induced at the hospital. The doctor and midwife have started the process slowly while using methods like foley bulb. Jinger invited her sister, Jessa, to the birth but she decided to turn it down but change her mind and will arrive after the baby arrives. Ben and Jessa pack up the boys and head down to meet the baby. Jinger starts Pitocin but her labor is still going pretty so her birth team decide to bring out a puzzle to pass the time.
By the evening time, Jinger is unable to relax and gets an epidural. By 4:37am, she has her baby girl in her arms. Felicity weights in at 8lbs and 3oz. Jeremy has a greater appreciation for the women in gender.
Ben and Jessa leave the hotel room to visit the baby after getting a text. Jinger is thrilled to see her sister. The couple introduce the rest of the family to the baby through video chat.  Jim Bob reveals that it feels like they are having grandbaby after grandbaby and they are so bless.
Jinger says that it’s sweet to change her own baby girl and gets to do everything.
Meanwhile, Josiah and Lauren are off for their honeymoon. They are heading to Austria with a stop over in London. They reveal that they are heading there because of the connection to the Sound of Music and Lauren is a fan.
Josiah and Lauren are ask if they have notice any changes. Lauren says that he snores and rolls around a lot in his sleep as Josiah has not notice anything negative about Lauren.
On their second day there, they take a hotrod tour. If you are wondering what a hotrod is, it’s a small one person vehicle is similar to a go-cart. Lauren reveals that she has not been pulled over however Josiah has. He admits that he has not had a ticket stick to his record through. After their tour, they head to get a snack. Neither one is much of a coffee drinker and Lauren has never try it since the smell gives her a headache. Josiah thinks it’s pretty good.
On another day, they head for a Sound of Music bike tour. As many of you know, that Lauren’s favorite movie is Sound of Music and Josiah has watched it many times. He says that they can relate to the Von Trapps and their lives.
The tour has them acting out of some of the scenes and it’s a dream come true for Lauren however acting is a bit of a stretch for her. She reveals that she is not much of an actress and it feels goofy to act things out.
One of the producers ask the couples what their favorite movie are is. Joseph says Sergeant York. Jeremy says a Beautiful Mind. Ben says Woodlawn. Kendra reveals War Room is her favorite movie.
Josiah reveals that the family had a lot of restrictions growing up and they still have them. Jessa adds that they don’t watch a ton of movies since her father did not want to stifle their creativity. They have a lot of childhood memories that were not in front of tv.
Josiah and Lauren dress up in Austrian clothing and visits a family that live in the mountains. They enjoy a delicious meal from the farm. Lauren says that they were able to communicate well with a language barrier.
Josiah and Lauren are off to return home and enjoy their new life as husband and wife.

Recap: Love is in the air


Jinger is getting closer to her due date. She hopes to have the baby soon so she can avoid having a big baby like her sisters. Jeremy makes a spicy Indian dish that makes everyone start coughing and sputtering. From what people have heard that spice is supposed to help get things started but it doesn’t work.
Back home, the crew has a few of the siblings try different levels of hot sauce and Jason wins the challenge.
John and Abbie have been courting for the past few months and they are ready to take the next step. John reveals that they have felt that they knew each other forever after one week of courting. John even introduced her to the family as his girlfriend after two weeks.
Abby reveals that John has been very steady and nothing riles him since he likes to have fun. The couple has been able to see each other every weekend. John reveals that the more he gets to know Abby the more he loves her.
John is getting ready for the propose to her and ends up getting help from a photographer, Lori Blythe who works in Fredericksburg, Texas. John is hoping to propose in Texas, so it works out prefect.
John and Jana travel to Oklahoma. John shares that his sister has been his wing woman for years and is a blessing. Abbie along with her sisters, Maggie and Carinna, are making peach salsa. Abbie reveals that John has been very romantic by buying her flowers and painting her nails for her. While Abbie is cooking, John comes up behind and surprises her, he reveals that she needs to pack a bag so they can go on a journey.
They head up to Texas where Lori is setting up the hanger for the proposal. John and Abbie reveal their courtship has been different than his siblings. They have been giving each other side hugs and showing affection. They arrive at the airport and have dinner before heading to the hanger. Jana and Maggie hang back when they arrive at the hanger. John asks her to marry him and she says yes. They have a few frontal hugs after it and he is so excited for the engagement. The photographer does a photo session to showcase this wonderful moment.
Meanwhile, Jinger is currently 38 weeks pregnant with her first child. She has invited her sisters (Jana and Jessa) and their friend Laura. They are going to set up the nursey. They need to get out all the beds and Jeremy’s soccer jerseys to the garage to make room for baby girl. The couple has four bedrooms: One is the master, office, guest room and now the nursey.
Jeremy reveals that he wasn’t prepared to have his jerseys removed just like his books being locked in a closet.
One of the producers asked Jana if she feels bad for Jeremy and she says no since he is adding another little girl into his life. First, he was adding Jinger to his life and now he is adding a baby girl so it’s more precious than his soccer jerseys.
Jinger admits that she didn’t have a vision and she just left it to the girls. The theme is southwestern. Jeremy and Jinger head to San Antonio to check on the baby. Her birth team will feature Jeremy, Michelle, Jana, Laura and Jeremy’s mom. Jeremy’s father will be in the hospital but not in the room. Jinger reveals that she wants her mom there because she has been through it for many times and is the biggest comfort.
Three days before her due date, Jinger heads to the hospital to get induced. Jeremy reveals that he was not nervous and anxious for his wife. He is more anxious for himself and hopes that he can be the strength that she needs him to be.
