Recap: Duggars Guide to Love

The family decide that it's time to discuss the rules for their courtships.
Everyone asked what is Courtship
    * Jason: Dating with a purpose and to get to know the person and their family with marriage in mind.
    * Jinger: Not all courtships end in marriage and it's okay.
    * Jim Bob: Don't be afraid to get involved in your kids relationship.
Jim Bob and Michelle had been part of Ben and Jessa's text messages and encourage their kids to take a chaperone with them on dates so they can ensure that they stick to their courtship standards.
Anna reveals that it's not the same rules as everyone else. She hopes that they all have a goal to remain pure heart before God.
What is a chaperone?
Jordyn: A chaperone is one that watches the people that are engaged or courting couple but they don't watch married couples.
Josh, Jill and Jessa all had three months engagement periods. They have always saved their physical relationship and keep their engagement short to make sure that they stay away from temptations.
    * Joy: "Once you say yes, I mean, why wait forever? I just say get it done."
The family wants to make sure that the engaged couple are ready to be parents before they get married since Josh and Anna found out that they were pregnant about four months after their wedding, Derick and Jill found out about four weeks after their wedding and then Ben and Jessa found out that they were pregnant about three months into their marriage.

Ben Seewald moves into the Duggar guest house!

The Duggars have a new person living in their house well their guest house.

"He moved up here a few weeks ago," Jim Bob, 49, tells PEOPLE exclusively. "It has been really good. He has been able to spend a lot more time with Jessa and our family. We have a guesthouse in front of our house, with a shower and everything, separate from the main house."

Ben even works for Jessa's father while he keeps doing his college classes

"I'm very excited that Ben is moving in today," Jessa says in the clip. "I think it will be awesome to get to spend more time with Ben and see him on a daily basis instead of once or twice a month."

"Ben was living four hours away in Hot Springs with his parents," Jim Bob says. "After Michelle and I were talking about it, we have so many projects to do that we need help for everything from construction projects to keeping the grass mowed to putting roof on a building, paperwork and things like that and we asked him if he would be interested in moving up here so that Jessa and his relationship could be really accelerated. He was all for it and his parents were happy about it."
Chaperones?

"They always have a chaperone," Jim Bob explains. "It has just worked out great. It is a little more labor intensive for Dad we did set a curfew. By midnight, every night, we need to make sure everybody is back in their place. Jessa and Ben have set up their own courtship standards. They did not hold hands until they got engaged. After they got engaged, they started holding hands. Just like Jill and Derick, they will be saving their first kiss for their wedding day.

Love and affection

Derick and Jill also gave their feelings about Ben moving into the family home.

"You're human, and the physical side is there for a reason," Derick says in the clip. "Naturally, it is going to be difficult if you try to refrain from that."

"Any time you are in love and are together, you realize you want to show your love and affection," she says in the clip. "But when you have purposed to keep those protections in your life, you have to remember and have that accountability." Michelle told People.

Happy Valentine's day blog

Michelle Duggar on Celebrating Valentine's Day

FAMILY MATTERS on 02.12.14

Question from a "19 Kids and Counting" fan on Facebook: How do you celebrate Valentine’s Day in your house? Is it just you and Jim Bob or does the whole family celebrate together?
We often celebrate Valentine’s Day as a family. It’s a really special time with the whole family getting around the table and spending time together. Last year, our older daughter, Jana, decided she was going to do a big Valentine’s banquet for our family. We had a beautiful spread on our table; everything was pink, red and white. We took pictures and made a special event of it. It was our way of expressing our gratefulness and our love for each other and the family, and celebrating how much family means to us. It’s so important to nurture that relationship. It was a day of love and fun and fellowship for the whole family.
Of course a lot of times for Valentine’s Day, Jim Bob and I will go on a date, but one of our favorite things to do as a family is to help throw a banquet for the single moms that we know. We want to bless the single moms; those that are widowed, divorced or abandoned, the women that are often forgotten during Valentine’s time.
My dear friend Debbie Query and her daughters teach our children music -- all the music ability that the kids have in violin is because of them. Debbie is a widow with four children; their father was tragically killed in a car accident. They have been amazing mentors and role models especially for my older girls.
Anyway, their family does an amazing widow’s banquet. They put it on, and our family participates in that. The children set the tables and serve as the waiters. They’ll put on black bowties, white shirts, black pants, and serve the meal. Sometimes we’ll have harpists or other musicians play beautiful music during the banquet. It’s very special.

anniversaries to remember!

Tonight the duggars are celebrating their wedding anniversary. Jim Bob and Michelle have reached 29 years of marriage while Josh and Anna have reached 5 years of marriage. Both husbands have surprises for their wives.

Jim Bob takes Michelle to Terra studio where they learn how to make glassblowing. The next stop is war eagle mill where they are met by their children who bake Michelle's favorite meal. To spend over night, Jim Bob took his wife to a hotel where they got a room with a Jacuzzi. The next morning, Jim Bob and Michelle went on an airboon ride and Michelle doesn't like heights but enjoyed this ride.

Josh needs someone to watch the kids while he and Anna celebrate their 5th wedding anniversary, so he calls in Jana and Joy Anna. Jim Bob shares Marriage tips

1. Be fruitful and multiply.
2. Respect each other.
3. Praise your wife and kids ten times more than you correct them.
4. Learn to listen to the heart of your wife, and allow her to communicate her concerns and dreams with you on a dailey basis.
5. Ask your wife what home repair projects would be important to her, and be sure to get them all done!
6. The husband should show his wife he loves her by opening doors, taking her on dates, telling her he loves her and leaving her love notes.
7. The husband should cherish his wife and show her he loves her by being respectful of her.
8. Establish a weekly date night.
9. The closer a husband and wife get to God, the closer they get to each other. The farther away they get from God, the farther they get from each other.
10. Don't let the sun go down on your wrath. If you have any conflicts, resolve them as quickly as you can (the day they happen, before the sun goes down).

As we share this with you. We encourage wives and husbands would sit down and follow these steps to help better their marriage and their relationship with the lord.
