Michael's 25th month update!

Michael just turn 2 in June and became a big brother. He has had a lot of changes since he was born.

Now they are living in a new state and have a new brother.

Grandchildren update

Marcus is such a joy for the duggar family. He was the first baby for the family in nearly two years minus Michelle's miscarriage. He is a welcomed blessing for the whole family. Mackynzie is happy to have another baby brother in her family and so is Michael. Michael is learning that he is not the baby anymore and gets to spend alot of time with his mother and father as they bond with Marcus. Recently, Marcus got to meet his other grandparents and aunts and uncles.

Question from a "19 Kids and Counting" fan: How are you feeling about Josh & Anna’s move to Washington, D.C.?

We’re so excited for Josh and Anna. This just seems like a natural next step in their family’s future. With Jim Bob being involved in politics all those years when Josh was young, I think it's just kind of a part of who Josh is. It's in his blood to be involved in the process of government. He has a love and desire to make a difference in our country. It's very near and dear to Josh’s heart.

Of course, our grandbabies are going with them, though, so we’re going to be beating a patch between Arkansas and D.C. quite a bit because we have such a close relationship with them and we’re going to miss them. There will probably be at least one of us from the family visiting them on a regular basis throughout the year. One of our girls figured it out and she said, “Well, mom, you know if we work this right, if we each take two weeks to visit them, we could probably have one of us there all year round!” So that’s what we’re hoping for.

We just know that we’re all going to miss them, but we’re very excited for them in this new season of their life. We trust that they’re going to have a good church family in the D.C. area and have a lot of people around to encourage them and be there for them. I think that’s really important. At times, we’ve lived away from home when Jim Bob was in the legislature and we were so thankful for our church family and the fellowship we had with them.

This will be the longest I’ve been away from Josh, so this will be a big change. When Joseph was away for ALERT training, he was gone about nine weeks. At the time, that was the longest we’d really been away from one of the children. We’ll still be able to talk with Josh and Anna on a daily basis, but it will definitely be a change. I know it's going to be a good thing for Josh and Anna for their future. It's really very exciting for the whole family.
