Following the arrest of Josh Duggar, Jim Bob and Michelle have issued a statement. The family is saddened by the news about the arrest and the charges but have faith that the truth will come to light.
“We appreciate your continued prayers for our family at this time. The accusations brought against Joshua today are very serious. It is our prayer that the truth, no matter what it is, will come to light, and that this will all be resolved in a timely manner. We love Josh and Anna and continue to pray for their family.”

We will not lie to you and say that it looks good for Josh when it doesn't the charges are not good and he will mostly not be able to stay with his wife and children until the outcome of the case.
So Sorry to hear about this.
ReplyDeletePraying for Josh Duggar. I do not think he had a natural upbringing and a parenting style that suppresses sexual expression in impressionable, inexperienced, and vulnerable teen boys only leads to an unhealthy sexual development and/or addiction, particularly isolating Josh only to the family unit. This upbringing has proven to manifest some unnatural behaviors and stunted development in adult hood. The sexually suppressed environment has definitely damaged Josh's psyche, if these allegations prove to be true. I pray for his sake, that it is not too late to rehabilitate this young man's life, though I do not see how he could possibly reshape his disrupted development. He was never permitted to have a normal perspective regarding sexual attraction. This negative parenting style has rippled through the entire family and obviously has also extended through generations of this family. It is heartbreaking. I remember how bizarre it was to hear the Duggar children to be called upon to deny physical attraction to someone of the opposite sex, making this such a forbidden thing. Very strange. The well meaning parents failed to recognize the normalcy of attraction and the importance of cultivating healthy perspectives regarding sexual feelings and expression. When the children were trained to call out NIKE, NIKE, NIKE, if there was an attractive person who may be wearing revealing clothing out to the young boys in the family, it was nothing short of bizarre. It is like being on a diet with a lot of forbidden foods. The restriction only makes you want it more. You think about it more, and well obsess and think of any way you may have it. You may even consider eating something that someone else would view as unacceptable, gross or inedible, someone else's leftover cake or a donut that is stale and a little moldy, if you were desperate enough. I think this is the effect this parenting style had on this young man as it relates to sex and subsequently, it negatively impacted the daughters as Josh was limited to only the family circle to try to satisfy normal sexual curiosity- which was now evolving into something less normal because of his circumstances-not a very balanced upbringing at all. This certainly was NOT the experience the parents had as youngsters. They were free to explore and experience their sexual attraction. The children were more or less an experiment. One can only hope that each member of the family negatively impacted by their isolated and restrictive upbringing can overcome and lead a more balanced life themselves and for their children. I also think Josh is trapped in a life that he is expected to live versus one he would have chosen for himself. Along with his abnormal sexual development and lack of maturity, has led to an unfortunate obsession. On the show, you could just see the life go out of him when his wife talked about having another baby, it was evident from his body language, that her desires were not his. You could almost see the pain in his eyes and on his face. I think he has been robbed of his life, a life on his own terms, and his sisters, wife, and children are collateral damage. VERY SAD. It will take a miracle to heal the damage that has been done by this way of life. It appears the damage to Josh is likely irreparable.
