Recap: A Surprise Delivery

Most of the Duggars are at Carlin Bates and Evan Stewart's wedding, they get a message from Ben saying that Jessa's water broke. Jim Bob takes Michelle, Jana, Josiah, and Lauren to the airport so Josiah can fly them back.

Michelle says that she wants to be there for her girls and help them anyway that she can.

Jessa reveals that they were going to have a hospital birth with a midwife. The morning that she went into labor, her midwife was out of town and she called the backup midwife and came to the house. They chose to do a home birth since Jessa loves them and prefers them.

It's 90 degrees and the air conditioning doesn't work, Michelle ends up starting to throw up so Josiah stops and fuel up and takes a bathroom break.

Jill heads to Ben and Jessa's house to help the labor progress with Teresa as an assistant.

At 5pm, Jessa is in active labor and is ready to push. Jessa hopes the praise music to calm down. Ivy was born on the couch.

Jessa reveals holding the baby for the first time brings emotions and she always cry.

After the birth, Jessa is bleeding too much which is the same problem that she had with her first child. After seeing a big gush of blood, Ben ends up calling the paramedics and Jessa agrees. Jessa is taken to the hospital along with Ben and the new baby.

At the hospital they have a standard setting for the women to have two bags of pitocin to help their uterus clamp down and stop bleeding. After long, Jessa is doing better.

Ben's parents bring the Seewalds boys to meet their little sister and the group arrives right after that.

Lauren begins to cry as she is holding baby Ivy. Her baby was due on the same day. Lauren admits that she was scared to hold the baby since she did not want to cry. It was hard for her but also healing to hold baby girl.

Jessa ends up staying overnight and the rest of the family arrive home. They head over to the house to hold baby Ivy. Spurgeon says that if you took off the band that it would look like a boy.

When the family arrives, Grandma Duggar gets to hold her because they share the same birthday.
John and Abbie are back from their mission trip. Jana brings flowers over since Abbie missed the garden party. Abbie reveals that she has a special connection to her since John and Abbie are twins.  The twins have a special thing that nobody gets and can read each other's minds. Abbie is laying down on the couch and so she reveals that she is eight weeks pregnant and is due the week of the twins birthdays. Jana is happy. Abbie reveals that she had a hard time with morning sickness and has been admitted to the hospital a few times. John says that it's hard to see his wife in pain and wishes that he could take it away.

Jinger is heading to the salon to get some blonde balayage and Jeremy is on board with that choice.

Michelle and the four oldest girls share their thoughts about it.

Jana says that they all had a similar hairstyle. She reveals that she had peroxide on her hair. She said that it made it look yellow blonde

Michelle says that they all asked what happen to her hair since it look awful and Jana didn't know why she did it without asking.

Jessa reveals that it's intimidated that some of them did it and did something to their hair.

Jinger reveals that they would get perms and would do each other's hairs.

The girls are asked why they have long hair and they reveal that it's preference and some have personal convictions.

Jeremy is watching Felicity and packing. Jinger arrives and loves her new hair. Jeremy agrees that it's beautiful.

Jana reveals that she had changed her hair color to brunette.

Joseph and Kendra head to the doctor's office for her ultrasound and brings Kendra's mom, sister, and brother along. The doctor gives the envelope to Lauren. James and Jennifer helps her make a cake.

The families head to celebrate Garrett's first birthday and a gender reveal party. Garrett's cake holds either pink or blue frosting inside. It takes a while for the little boy to get in the middle. Kendra admits that she had pushed her son's hand down for a bit to help him reveal it. It's a baby girl.
