As many of you know that on Saturday, we announced Derick's release from Counting On. We also shared, on Sunday, TLC press release regarding Derick Dillard. Well today we are sharing Derick's statements that have lead to this confusions
.
On August 2nd, referring to I am Jazz, Derick stated the following:
"What an oxymoron... a 'reality' show which follows a non-reality.
'Transgender' is a myth. Gender is not fluid; it's ordained by God."
On October 26th, Derick wrote an article titled "American Progress, Through Understanding and Unity" and posted it to his website.
On November 9th, in response to a question about his October 26th article and his August 2nd statement, Derick stated:
"I pity Jazz, for those who take advantage of him in order to promote their
agenda, including the parents who allow these kinds of decisions to be
made by a child. It’s sad that people would use a juvenile this way. Again,
nothing against him, just unfortunate what’s on TV these days. Jazz is being taken advantage of, as part of a larger agenda. I really have nothing against the kid and wish him all the best in life. I just hate seeing him used this way."
Many have asked how Derick would treat a person who is homosexual or
transgender. His response was that he would not treat such
an individual any differently than anyone else.
I wonder what TLC would do if you pulled your show and took it to the Up channel where the Bates are. I think TLC has gotten way too liberal. The only show I watch on that channel is yours.
ReplyDeleteTLC now started a new "Teen Mom" version, "Unexpected". They are going to be copying shows from other channels, to keep going. I personally don't understand why Jazz' parents wanted her to be this outspoken personality and not pay attention to their other kids, but I guess the money they get from TLC is more important.
DeleteIt is disappointing that TLC has decided to remove Derrick from the show because he doesn’t support and/or celebrate the confusion that is represented in the show Jazz. TLC does a deservice to it’s viewing audience by choosing sides. TLC knew and knows that Derrick holds to the Christian faith when they hired him. Now because he speaks out against transgenderism he is out.
ReplyDeleteShame on TLC for such a move.
Their programming! They aren't doing anyone a disservice. Granted we all have a right to free speech, but when done on the job or in this case, to a program on the station that PAYS you, that can be a problem. Just saying!
DeleteI guess TLC makes lot of money on Jazz show, and it's more beneficial to keep it going than support other shows.
DeleteOpinions are like aholes. Everyone has one And I'm not interested in yours. Jazz stays and so should you, even though I disagree with you.
