Recap: The Abbie Gown

Jeremy and Jinger are taking their daughter down to visit members of Jeremy’s family in Pennsylvania. Jinger reveals that her daughter loves her father and has him wrapped around her finger. She pulls on his heart strings and he is a natural. Felicity is currently four months old.

Jinger needs to run to the store to pick up some last minute items while Jeremy takes care of their daughter and pack for their trip. He also needs to feed their newly adopted cat, Jake. Jeremy reveals that he spends one on one time with their daughter pretty regularly so Jinger can have some time alone. He tries to give Jinger time alone to work out or spend time with friends. He enjoys time with his daughter.

Back at the Duggar guest house, the siblings are at work trying to create a pop-up dress shop for Abbie. Jana is in charge of this project. They have gotten a seven foot mirror and mannequins for it. John and Abbie’s wedding is just one month away so Renee has many dresses for her to try on.

Abbie is joined by her sisters, Maggie and Carrina along with John’s sisters to start the festivities. Abbie reveals that she is happy to see what the Duggar girls thoughts and opinions are with the dresses.

Abbie is thrilled to be marrying John but will miss her family in Oklahoma. She is a bit of a homebody and has lived at home all of her life. She knows that it will be a big change but it will be good.

Abbie feels that the first dress has too much lace and not enough sparkle. Abbie wants a dress with sparkle and little poof. The second dress is pink and most of the girls including the bride are not sure about it. Joy doesn’t like the color. The third dress has the poof and Renee adds the shimmering layer and it has lace on the top.

The fourth dress, that she tries on, is more fitted and Abbie is not a fan however it is the only one that the sparkle is sewn into to it. She picks the third dress but wants Renee to add the sparkles to the top of it.

Abbie’s mom reveals that she is very excited for her daughter’s wedding and feels that she might cry.

Abbie has the same modesty standards as the Duggar family which is wearing sleeves and high neck lines. Abbie doesn’t wear skirts only since her work requires her to wear scrubs but sometimes other nures wear skirts with scrub tops however she feels that it’s more practical to wear pants with her scrubs.

Jim Bob and the boys are having a bachelor party for John David. As many of them know is John is a pilot so they decided to do flour bombing comp. They dropped the bags from the plane.

Jim Bob reveals that it’s a stiff competition since it’s not whether you win or lose. It’s more how you play the game.  Jeremiah says that it is nice to win. John takes Jedidiah, Jeremiah, and Jason up and they have to abide by the FAA rules.

It starts raining and the boys feel motion sickness. John reveals that he normally keeps sick sacks in his airplane since most of the family is motion sickness. No one hits the target but Jed wins since his three throws are about 197 feet from the target.

John says that he thinks that the boys are having fun but picking a wedding dress is fun for the girls but not for him.
