Recap: Josiah and Lauren’s prank-less wedding


It’s one week before the big day and Lauren reveals that she is on the edge of her seat. Lauren and Josiah share what they appreciate of each other before writing down 52 reasons why they love each other. They are planning to share this with each other weekly during their first year of marriage.
Back in Texas, Jeremy and Jinger head to a birthing class with their midwife in tow. In the class they are practicing new labor positions and breathing techniques. Jeremy reveals that it’s starting to sink in that the baby will be here.
Austin reveals that during labor and delivery, it’s their time to show how much we care about her.
Lily (Lauren’s sister) hosts the coed tea party to honor both the bride and the groom. She goes all out fine china and lots of tea and tasty food. The guests are all dressed in fancy clothes and Ben compares it to Jane Austen film.
Family and friends gather at the Cathedral of Ozarks, which is the same venue that Josiah’s older sister, Jinger got married in 2016, to help Ms. Cindy set up for the big event. Cindy wants it to be a surprise for the bride and groom. The Duggar brothers are planning to get Josiah back, so they head to the grocery store to buy items for trashing Josiah and Lauren’s getaway car. The day before the wedding, more family members arrive to help. They must make 1,000 strawberry shortcake cupcakes. They are planning to make 200 gluten-free and 800 regulars. They also need to make a gluten free strawberry shortcake wedding cake.
Right before the rehearsal, Dwain is requesting that there will be no pranks during the wedding and makes everyone promise by raising their hands. The siblings raise their hands but don’t quite agree with it since all the pranks that Josiah has done. Jinger feels that it’s injustice because Josiah has prank them in the past.  Jana agrees with her sister and knows that her brother has it coming.
The day of the wedding, the couple arrives together but parts way. Lauren has chosen to get ready with just her mother. She ends up just wanting some quite time and gets advice from her mother to treat her husband better than the rest of the world.
Before the ceremony, the couple has their first look and it is a little awkward moment but that is what first looks often are. They end up both beaming together and now it’s time to go.
Lauren and her father walked down the aisle “Crown him with many crowns”. Lauren ends up reading the note that she wrote to her father expressing how much she loves him. Lauren reveals that Josiah and her father are the two people that can calm her down. The couple lights the unity candle, sign the marriage license and pray together. The couple is ready for their first kiss. Josiah reveals that he practices kissing on the hand. He prefers kissing on the mouth.
At the reception, they both eat the cake with Lauren smashing the cake in Josiah’s face. Jessa reveals that her brother’s wedding was her favorite.
The new couple heads to their getaway car only to find out that it’s a junk car. The other getaway car is covered in sticky notes.
Josiah and Lauren are going to Austria for their honeymoon and are excited to be by themselves for their honeymoon. The boys have one more prank and have Justin hiding in the backseat. They let him out and head to their destination.
John introduces everyone to Abbie Burnett and she quickly reveals how much she loves him. She gives a backstory of what she does which is being a nurse and working with geriatrics. She loves her family. Although both families have known each other for the past 18 years. The family official met Abbie just one month before the wedding. They were shocked when Abbie was introduced to them. Joy started to cry and gave him a big hug.
John reveals that they met on a Sunday and got confirmation about their interest in each other on a Monday and just one week later, they started their courtship. Abbie reveals that if you know that it’s the right one then you don’t need to wait around. You just go
