Jill boards the plane to DC with her sisters (Jana, Jessa, Jinger and Joy-Anna) along with their mom to shop for her dress. Jill reveals that she is really nervous about her upcoming wedding. Michelle reveals that she is excited to see her daughter in a wedding dress and now it's time for it too happen.
Jana reveals that there might be more siblings and wedding coming up that they are going to be doing a lot of wedding dress shopping.
While they are in DC they think that it's the prefect time to meet up with Anna and the kids. While at breakfast, Jill asked Jana to be her maid of honor and asked her other sisters to be her bridemaids (Johannah will be a bridemaids. Jill reveals I chose Jana as my maid of honor because growing up, we've always been really close.
Anna was not expecting to be in the wedding party at all. Jill and the girls arrive at Ava Laurenne Bride where she gets the princess treamtement. The girls give Jill their special notes. Jill starts trying on dresses and finds the prefect dress. The dress fits her prefect.
Back home, Jim Bob loads up John David, Derick and Ben to go on a camping trip. Jim Bob gives the boys some marriage advice to both Derick and Ben. John David reveals that his father has tried to set him up but John David feels that he has not feel like he found the right one. The Boys head rock climb where they say that John David is the most expendable one because he doesn't have someone yet. Jim Bob says to his son that they would all miss him too much.
The boys decided that they wanted to jump off the cliff. Derick and Ben jump however Jim Bob takes a couple minutes but John David did not want to do it.
Jim Bob reminded that he has 19 kids and doesn't think that they could lose their father.
Derick reveals when he jump he saw his life flashed before his eyes.
When their trip is almot done, the boys go down the zip line. Jim Bob reveals that both Derick and Ben passed their test and reveals that he only has seven more daughters to go.
I like you guys, I really do. I defend you all the time. But Jim Bob's comment about John David being expendable because he doesn't have a girlfriend, hit the nail on the head on why people like me are leaving the church. Single, never married and childless (especially over 35, 45 or 55) are completely ignored by the church. We are invisible and have no worth or value. We try so hard to do what we believe God asks us to do, just like you do with your spouses and children, but to no avail, at least in the family-centered church world. Divorced people and drug addicts have groups and people have empathy for them. But not us. We are lepers in the church world. Please be careful about comments like this. They hurt. Perhaps some consideration about people with lives that are very different from your traditional family is at hand.
